Post-COVID-19 bifacial weakness and paraesthesia: a case report

OBJECTIVES: We present a patient with bifacial weakness and paraesthesia subtype of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), which occurred 1 month after SARS-CoV-2 infection. While GBS as complication infection has been described many times, only few cases post-COVID-19 are known to date. RESULTS: A 59-year-old man presented thoracoradicular pain, paraesthesias hands feet, well progressive bilateral facial palsy. Neurological examination revealed hyporeflexia his lower limbs hypoaesthesia feet. Clinical electrophysiological findings CSF analysis were consistent paraesthesia. The patient’s condition improved promptly 5 days intravenous immunoglobulin therapy. DISCUSSION: suspect be possible post-infectious COVID-19. Hence, it is differential diagnosis nerve palsy in association Considering the rarity paraesthesia, appears unlikely that bigger trials elucidating causal relation between them will available future.
